CANCELLATION POLICY
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2013 (REVISED OCTOBER 10, 2016; MARCH 26, 2020):
 
INDIVIDUALS WHO DO NOT ATTEND THEIR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT(S) OR CANCEL WITH LESS THAN 24-HOURS' NOTICE, WILL BE CHARGED A FEE.
 
UPON MISSING THE FIRST SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, WITHOUT PROPER NOTICE, THE INDIVIDUAL MUST PAY A $50.00 FEE BEFORE SCHEDULING THE NEXT APPOINTMENT AND/OR TO RESERVE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS.  
 
THE FEE IS SUBJECT TO INCREASE TO $100.00 IF FURTHER APPOINTMENTS ARE MISSED WITHOUT PROPER NOTICE. 
 
UNATTENDED SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS ARE CANCELLED 15 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED TIME AND RESULT IN A CANCELLATION FEE.  
The Cancellation Fee will be waived under the following conditions: 
                                   
Adverse Weather: Significant accumulation of snow or ice, high winds, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, and other weather events that can cause a variety of safety risks to clients, supervisees or the general public and impede the ability of individuals to attend the virtual appointment.
 
Emergency Events: Unusual situations that may adversely impact Jessica Holton, MSW, LCSW, LCAS's ability to continue to provide services to clients, supervisees or the general public or may place members of Jessica Holton, PLLC at risk. Such conditions may include criminal acts or terrorism, fire, chemical spills, adverse or toxic odors, biological and public health threats, sustained loss of critical infrastructure (e.g., power, water, heat, and life safety systems), major public transit disruptions, and special directives or restrictions from public safety authorities.​
Illness During A Public Health Emergency (In-Person Sessions Only): Sudden onset of highly contagious/transmissible symptoms for Influenza, COVID-19, et cetera.  Verification by a medical provider is requested to waive the cancellation fee.
 
To assist in determining whether the cancellation fee waiver might be applicable, Jessica Holton, PLLC often aligns with the City of Greenville Offices and/or Condition 2 (or higher) of East Carolina University's Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Regulation and Standard Operating Procedure.
