Virtual Pet Grief & Loss Support Group Considerations
Considerations while attending virtual support groups:

-
The same expectations apply during telehealth sessions as in-person sessions.
-
Be prepared to begin on time and do not use substances (including alcohol) before or during the session
-
Do not drive during the virtual group session
-
Plan to be alone or utilize headphones to protect group members' privacy
-
Wear appropriate clothing commensurate with attending in-person groups
-
Recording or taking a screenshot of the group members is prohibited
-
Both video and audio are encouraged while attending
-
Keep the video steady/on a flat surface and level with eye contact
-
Ensure that there is plenty of lighting in your environment and avoid back-lighting (i.e. lamps or bright windows behind you)
-
Smartphones, devices or computers can be placed on Do Not Disturb mode to minimize interruptions
-
Minimize distractions and multitasking during the virtual group
-
Close extra tabs and programs to improve video and audio quality
-
If possible, reduce noise around you and limit external interruptions
-
If the group is large, place your microphone on mute when not talking
-
Please expect to stay the entire group session
